Frequently Asked Questions

I'M A PROFESSOR, BUT I DON'T SEE THE CLASSES TAB. WHO DO I CONTACT?

If you are teaching this semester, but do not see a Classes tab, please contact the Records Office at 714.556.3610 x370. Have them check to make sure you're properly assigned to the class you're teaching, and also that you're coded as faculty member in the database.

WHY DO SOME STUDENTS' PICTURES ON MY CLASS ROSTER SHOW A RED X?

This just means that the student does not have a valid photo in the database. The roster is trying to link to a photo that is not there, resulting in an error that displays a red X. Student photos are updated in the database at the beginning of each semester.

MY CLASS ROSTERS DON'T FIT ON THE PAGE WHEN PRINTED. HOW DO I ADJUST THE PRINTER SETTINGS?

You'll need to adjust the paper orientation for your printer. To do this, click on the "Print" button located in the upper right hand corner of your roster.
Internet Explorer users: A Print window will appear; click on the "Layout" tab. In the section marked "Orientation", select Landscape instead of Portrait. Then click the Print button.
Netscape users: A Print window will appear; click on the "Properties" button. In the section marked "Orientation", select Landscape instead of Portrait. Then click "OK". Click "OK" again on the Print window to print the selected page.

How do I copy my class roster to Excel?

Under the Classes tab, select your class and choose "Sortable Class Roster" from the Class Services drop-down menu. On the Sortable Class Roster page, click the link that says "Export to Microsoft Excel". A message box will appear prompting you to Open or Save the roster as a Microsoft Excel (.xls) worksheet.
